From the Ice Rink To the river Banks: BHS Senior Portraits with Reese

She’s Back! Baraboo High’s class of 2025 senior, Reese! After an unforgettable adventure out west to the sunny shores of California, Reese has returned to the beautiful Baraboo area just in time for her senior year. We did our best to provide her with that laid back Cali vibe even though there was no salt water in sight. To do this we went to a couple of my favorite spots, downtown Wisconsin Dells and a quiet little beach area along the Wisconsin River.

It’s really no surprise she came back to the midwest with her love of hockey. Oh sure, they can make ice on the west coast too but we all know the upper midwest owns the rink! It was early summer and it was a scorcher, so there was no ice at the Pierce Park Ice Rink, but we wouldn’t let that stop us from creating some fun hockey images. To do this, we brought all the lights, fake smoke and colored gels. Luckily we found a fan to keep her from melting away haha.

And then the dress and skates came out, and one of my favorite images ever was born!

Girl Power

She traded the skates for sandy beaches along the Wisconsin River in Lake Delton. As always I try to create magical scenes with my seniors, using all of the beauty that Wisconsin has to offer. Coaching them in poses, hair flips and runway walks and using things like lace fabrics to manipulate light. There is no shortage of beautiful locations along the rivers and lakes in the Baraboo and Dells area. Reese was definitely in her element!

Then it was time to turn her into a fashion model. Reese brought a beautiful blue dress that she was excited to rock in front of the camera and I knew just the place to make it pop. Alleys are my secret weapon! Small towns do not offer much in the way of that city feel but if you look closely you will find it hidden in the alleyways. I think it’s safe to say that she killed that dress in the alley!

A huge thank you to Reese and her family for always choosing me for their photography needs!
